THE COMMISSIONS AND THEIR ACTIVITIES

1. LAW & POLITCS

Counsels the management board of the Council on legal matters
Works out legal opinions on legal problems that affect the council or its members
Undertakes political lobbying in the Swiss communal, cantonal and national political arena
Coordinates other efforts in local and regional levels

The organ of the spokesperson of the council
Coordinates communication with the outside world
Takes care of building the public image of the council
Prepares press statements on matters that affect the African community and Africa
Membership mobilization and consolidation for the council
Coordinate other local and regional African communication outlets

Investigates and searches for problems touching the African community in the areas of education and health
Presents possible solutions to health and education problems of the African Diaspora
Works in close collaboration avec AIDS HILFE Schweiz
Remain in regular contacts with communal, cantonal and federal authorities in charge of education and health.
Organize workshops and seminars to raise awareness and educate on education and health issues in the Black community
Coordinate other efforts in local and regional levels

In charge of empowerment and capacity building of the African community of Switzerland
Promotes the development of African talents in Switzerland
Counsels on available opportunities to acquire knowledge and possible future trends
Seeks to improve the economic integration and job possibility of the African community
Diagnoses the problems of empowerment and capacity building
Proposes solutions to such problems
Organizes workshops and seminars on empowerment and capacity building
Coordinate other efforts in local and regional levels

Composed mostly of elderly and experienced Africans and Swiss friends of Africa
Internal organ of conflict management in the African community
Mediates conflicts and offers proposals for solutions within the African community
OMediates conflicts and offers proposals for solutions between the community and the Swiss authorities and other instances or with other communities.
Organizes workshops and seminars on mediation and conflict management
Coordinate other efforts in local and regional levels

In charge of social, cultural, youth and sportive activities
Promotes the development of African talents in cultural and sportive events
Promotes African culture in Switzerland
Organization of African festivals , exhibitions and events to showcase African culture
Coordinate youth activities other efforts in local and regional levels

In charge of financial affairs of the council like Bookkeeping and Controlling/li>
Counsels on the available opportunities in the job market and possible future trends.
Organizes fund raising for the projects, activities and events of the council
Elaborate projects of social and economic integration for the African Diaspora
Elaborate developmental projects for Africa
Coordinate other efforts in local and regional levels
